A hydrocolloid is a substance that forms a gel or a viscous dispersion in water. In the natural gum trade that means polysaccharides collected as tree exudates — the material a tree produces to seal a wound — which are then cleaned, graded and used industrially to thicken, stabilise, emulsify, suspend, encapsulate or bind.
Natural exudate gums differ from seaweed extracts (agar, carrageenan), seed gums (guar, locust bean) and microbial gums (xanthan) in that they cannot be manufactured to order. Supply depends on wild trees, harvest seasons and the communities who tap them, which is why sourcing depth matters more than anything else in this business.
The most widely used natural emulsifier in the world. Hashab (Grade 1, Acacia Senegal) is the premium grade for beverage emulsions, flavour encapsulation and pharmaceuticals. Talha (Grade 2, Acacia Seyal) — also traded as Nigeria Gum or Gond — is the volume grade for food and industry, supplied from JADA lumps to powder. Both carry CAS 9000-01-5 and INS 414 / E414.
Gum Karaya (Sterculia urens), INS 416 / E416, swells rather than dissolves and holds the highest water absorption of the commercial gums. Grades No.1 through No.7, processed at our own unit in Ratlam.
Badam Pisin and Almond Gum are the South Indian trade names for the same Sterculia urens gum — the crystals soaked for sarbath, falooda and cooling drinks. Same material, same grades, different regional vocabulary.

Every gram of gum we sell is an exudate from trees that were never planted by human hands. We do not operate plantations. We work directly with cooperatives and village communities — in the Kayes region of Mali and across the Indian belt — training harvesters in tapping techniques that protect tree longevity and allow full seasonal recovery. That direct relationship is what lets us hold quality and traceability at the point where it is actually decided.
